October 31 – With the international break over, fans up and down the Premier League returned in their hundreds of thousands for a fortnight packed with a selection of last-minute winners and nasty upsets.
Newcastle United and West Ham United remain the % capacity champions, yet again comfortably smashing the elusive 99% capacity mark. West Ham are yet to record an attendance lower than 99.8% in the latest staggering statistic to come out of East London.
Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace had the lowest percentage capacity of each respective week, the latter of which were unlucky to sit bottom after an excellent collective week of attendance – the best since the opening day of the season at 98.579% average.
Round nine saw an average capacity of 98.104%, which marks it as slightly above average.
Thanks to the week’s hosts holding the majority of the Premier League’s biggest stadiums, matchweek 10 of England’s top flight saw the second largest attendance since the start of the season as 426,819 fans.
Manchester United held the largest crowd in their 0-3 thumping at the hands of a rampant Manchester City, who looked back to their best after some shaky performances earlier in the month saw them drop crucial points against Arsenal and Wolves.
The Red Devils continue to limp on in a difficult start to the new campaign, as the first ten matches have them placed in 8th on 15 points, as well as a last-place spot in their Champions League group. Despite the team’s early struggles and questions surrounding Erik Ten Hag’s future, Old Trafford consistently reaches around the 99% capacity mark – an impressive feat for a stadium of its size.
Premier League action continues this Saturday as attendance kings Manchester United face Fulham at Craven Cottage in the early kickoff.
