AFC draws groups for Futsal Asian Cup in Thailand. Uzbekistan to host world finals

December 15 – Japan will begin the defence of their AFC Futsal Asian Cup title in the same group as their old rivals South Korea. Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic will be their opponents in Group C.

The AFC held the final draw for the Futsal Asian Cup Thailand 2024 at AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yesterday.

The 16-team tournament will be played April 17-28, 2024 in Thailand.

Hosts Thailand will have Vietnam, Myanmar and China PR for company in Group A.

Group B will see four-time runners-up Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Australia battling for the two quarter-final spots.

Uzbekistan will host the Futsal World Cup September 14 and October 6, 2024, the first time the FIFA finals have been held in Central Asia.

Iran head Group D and are challenging for a 13th Asian Cup title. The face Bahrain, Kuwait and Afghanistan in their group.
