January 15 – UEFA has announced new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD as an official partner and the Official E-Mobility Partner of Euro 2024.
UEFA said BYD will contribute to organising the most sustainable European Championship to date by providing a range of NEVs for various stakeholders during the tournament.
BYD will also showcase its latest NEV models and cutting-edge technologies at selected EURO 2024 venues.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said: “We are excited to welcome BYD, a pioneering brand with a 29-year pedigree in advanced battery technologies with a reputation for global innovation in new energy vehicles and the world’s biggest electric car company… BYD is short for Build Your Dreams, which connects perfectly with the European Championship as players and teams relentlessly pursue their passion and hard work to build their dreams on the field, and lift the prestigious Henri Delaunay Trophy.”
BYD will be present at the official fan zones and will also hold hundreds of events in more than 230 BYD stores across 19 European countries. No value was given for the sponsorship.

Euro 2024 will be played in Germany across ten host cities from June 14 to July 14. BYD joins adidas, Alipay, Atos, Betano, Booking.com, Coca-Cola, Engelbert Strauss, Hisense, Lidl, Unilever Nutrition/Unilever Personal Care, Visit Qatar/Qatar Airways and Vivo as official global sponsors of Euro 2024.
