January 16 – Newcastle United have pulled out of race for wantaway Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips due to the club’s differing loan fee expectations. Crystal Palace, Everton, West Ham and Juventus are still in pursuit of the 28-year-old England international’s signature, who has a market value of €28 million according to Transfermarkt.
PSG are considering a move for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who has a £100 million release clause in his current contract. The 26-year-old joined Newcastle in June 2022 from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon for a fee of €42.1 million – his value has since doubled.
The club are searching for a superstar signing to reinvigorate PSG’s midfield in the absence of long-term midfield lynchpin Marco Verratti, who transferred to Qatari club Al-Arabi SC in the summer.
Manchester United are eyeing a move for 22-year-old Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise as the young Frenchman continues to impress in the Premier League. After penning a new deal with Palace in the summer to stave off interest from Chelsea, Olise would be even harder to prise away now that his contract lasts until 2027.
To ease the swelling transfer fee for the Frenchman, the Red Devils are prepared to send 26-year-old English fullback Aaron Wan Bissaka, who was signed from the Eagles in 2019, in the other direction as part of the deal.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on the development of Karim Benzema’s situation in Saudi Arabia after it was revealed that the Frenchman is unhappy in the Kingdom. The striker’s future at Al-Ittihad was labelled as ‘uncertain’ after the 36-year-old missed training and was subsequently excluded from the club’s winter training camp in Dubai.
Celtic are interested in Liverpool backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, as other Premier League clubs such as Brentford, Brighton and Wolves look to capitalise on the player’s lack of game time. The news breaks after Liverpool confirmed they are willing to sell the 24-year-old the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper for £20 million this summer and have already identified Sunderland’s 23-year-old former England Under-21 international Anthony Patterson as his replacement.
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain are interested in Lille’s 18-year-old France Under-21 defender Leny Yoro. The youngster, who has featured in all bar one of Lille’s League matches this season, could be available for a cut price with his contract expiring next summer.
