February 14 – Latin American used car marketplace Kavak has become a sponsor of the Concacaf Champions Cup (CCC) for the three editions running 2024 through 2026.
The rebranded Champions Cup (formerly the Concacaf Champions League) begins this month and plays through to June with 27 teams competing and 51 matches in total.
Kavak is headquartered in Mexico. Mexican clubs had a lock on the old Champions League, winning 15 of the last 16 editions of the top tier Concacaf club competition. Club America, CF Monterrey, Chivas Guadalajara, Pachuca, Tigres UANL and Toluca will compete in the 2024 competition.
“We are very pleased to welcome Kavak as a new partner for the Concacaf Champions Cup, which is the highest level of elite club football in our region,” said Concacaf General Secretary Philippe Moggio (pictured centre).
“This partnership will see Kavak use their extensive reach to engage with fans in Mexico and Latin America and will be of true mutual benefit as the 27 participating clubs battle on the pitch to be crowned as regional champions and qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup.”
Kavak will work with Concacaf to increase the reach of the competition with an emphasis on story-based activations to build on the history and legend of the competition.
No value was given for the sponsorship.
“Over the past 8 years, Kavak has nurtured a strong bond with our consumers, connecting through our shared passion: sports. Joining forces with Concacaf elevates our journey, extending our presence into the realm of football and, crucially, fueling our consumers’ fervor. It’s an exciting opportunity to showcase our products to fans and propel our brand to new heights,” said Alberto Tovar, Kavak Global Brand VP.
