Oliver Glasner lined up to take the keys to the Palace from Hodgson, reports

February 19 – Former Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner is reported to have agreed a deal to take over at struggling Crystal Palace.

German reports say he will replace Roy Hodgson and that he was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday watching the game between Spurs and Wolves, with Palace to visit the north London club in two weeks’ time.

Hodgson, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been recovering after being admitted to hospital on Thursday and it is unclear who will take charge of the team in a crucial fixture at Everton tonight.

Glasner’s greatest success came when he steered Frankfurt to the Europa League title in 2022, beating Rangers in the final on penalties. His side followed up that success by finishing runners-up in the German Cup the following season.

Frankfurt decided to part ways with Glasner at the end of the 22/23 season a year before his contract was set to expire after a disappointing second half of the campaign.
