Fluminense agree €7m+ short sponsorhip with Superbet

April 2 – Superbet will become a new main sponsor of South American champions Fluminense in a deal worth at least €7.7 million a year.

On Wednesday, Betano will feature one last time on the shirt of the Rio club before Superbet steps in. Shirt sponsor for the past three seasons, Betano paid €3,1 million a year.

Under the new deal with Superbet, Fluminense will receive a minimum of €7,7 million a year with a cap of €9,6 million, dependent on performance. In a similar agreement, Superbet is also the shirt sponsor of Sao Paulo.

The deal is among the highest in Brazilian football. Flamengo receives €15.6 million a year from Pixbet while Corinthians banks €22.15 million a year from Vai de Bet.  Superbet has said it wants to become the leading betting operator in Brazil.

Last year, Brazilian authorities legalised sports betting in the country after the industry had been operating in a regulatory grey area since 2018. Operators will need to acquire a Brazilian license to be able to operate in the country. Just over 130 companies, including controversial bookmaker 1XBet, applied for a license.
