Hummel adds LaLiga’s Celta Vigo to growing club kit roster

June 4 – La Liga’s RC Celta Vigo has signed a five-year deal with Hummel which will see the Danish sports brand become the club’s official kit supplier until 2029, replacing Adidas.

The deal sees Hummel will add yet another La Liga team to their growing sponsorship roster as the Danish brand continues to grow across the European top five leagues.

Already in partnerships with Real Betis, UD Las Palmas, SD Eibar, and CD Tenerife, Hummel also holds technical sponsorship agreements with Sunderland AFC, FC Cologne, Werder Bremen, AS Saint Etienne, Brondby FC, and most notably the Danish national team, who will feature in the upcoming European Championships this summer.

Marián Mouriño, President of RC Celta, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying: “We are thrilled to embark on this journey with hummel, a brand that deeply resonates with the spirit and values of our club. This five-year partnership stands on a foundation of mutual respect and a shared vision, propelling us into a future filled with promise and rooted in our identity.”

Hummel ruffled feathers ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup by toning-down the visibility of logos and its brand on Denmark’s kits, in conjunction with the Danish FA in a protest against Qatar’s human rights record. The kit supplier said it “did not wish to be visible” in a tournament it claimed “had cost thousands of lives”.

“At Hummel, we believe that sport should bring people together, and when it doesn’t, we are eager to speak up and make a statement,” said the brand.

José García, president of hummel Spain, reflected on the synergy between the two brands: “Real Club Celta de Vigo boasts a rich heritage, dedicated fanbase, and distinctive culture. Our immediate bond with Celta and its supporters has been profound, driven by shared values and collective goals. It is a privilege to support Real Club Celta de Vigo as we strive to create appealing technical and merchandise offerings for their fans.”
