June 11 – Arsenal Women, along with their men’s team, will pre-season tour in the United States this summer, though in different locations.
While the men’s team will play in Los Angeles July 21-23 against Manchester United and Liverpool, the women will base in Washington DC and play the NWSL’s Washington Spirit and Barclays Women’s Super League champions, Chelsea, in August.
Arsenal’s women have top and tailed their close season with international tours, having rounded-off the 2023/24 season with a trip to Melbourne, Australia, where 42,120 fans saw them beat A-League All Stars Women 1-0 at Marvel Stadium.
Games will be played at Audi Field on August 18 and 25, with a training camp held at George Mason University during the visit.
Arsenal Sporting Director, Edu Gaspar, said: “We always want to create the best conditions for our teams to prepare and perform at their best in pre-season. This gives our players an opportunity to play and train in a new environment, in front of our supporters around the world.
Arsenal finished third in the WSL last season but are preparing for a 2024/25 season that will see them play more games at the Emirates Stadium.
Managing Director, Richard Garlick said: “To take our women’s team to the US for the first time on tour is another sign of great progress.
“We know from our recent trip to Australia that the interest and love for Arsenal Women stretches far and wide. We want to build on that and bring our US supporters closer to the club.
“We look forward to our visit and building strong foundations for a momentous season ahead, which will see more women’s games come to Emirates Stadium.”
