Aston Villa gears up for Champions League season with SeatGeek extension

June 21 – Champions League-bound Aston Villa have extended their partnership with SeatGeek, which will see them remain the Birmingham club’s Official Primary Ticketing Partner for both men’s and women’s teams.

Villa Park has a current capacity of 42,640 seats, which the club will expect to fill thanks to the team’s top four placement earning a seat in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

The collaboration between Aston Villa and ticketing service TopTix started in July 2017. This followed SeatGeek’s acquisition of TopTix in April, which was the largest acquisition in SeatGeek’s history at that point.

Chris Heck, President of Business Operations, said: “We are extremely happy to be aligned with SeatGeek with our new global vision for this great club. SeatGeek have been a trusted partner and we look forward to continuing our off-field growth alongside an internationally-recognised partner.”

SeatGeek is already partnered with a number of other UK football clubs to supplement its US business, which specialises in NBA ticketing.

The company most recently partnered up with top-tier Scottish side Rangers, which expanded its partnership with SeatGeek back in February.

Peter Joyce, Managing Director of SeatGeek, said: “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with Aston Villa after what has been such an historic season , one which maintains their upward trajectory. It is our pleasure that we are able to continue our journey together.”

The partnership with SeatGeek is the latest in a series of stadium-focused collaborations by the club, who are revamping their hospitality facilities and the stadium footprint to enhance the fan experience and generate new revenue.

Earlier this week, the club announced Carlsberg as its official lager and cider partner, with the brewery collaborating with the club to aid the revamp of its in-stadium bars and hospitality suites as it gears up for life as a Champions League club.
