AC Milan greenlighted to enter Milan Futuro into Serie C

June 28 – AC Milan has officially unveiled its Milan Futuro project: a newly formed team of young players that will compete in the Serie C Championship starting from the upcoming season.

The club said that it had formally received a positive response from the Federal Council of the FIGC to their application for registration in Serie C.

The acceptance of the registration application means that the roster of 60 teams that will participate in the 2024/25 Championship season has been finalised.

Milan Futuro was created with the main objective of enhancing the talent of young players who have grown up in the Rossoneri Youth Sector, without having to send them out on loan to gain first-team experience.

It will allow their young players to compete, with their own Club, in professional football.

Former Rossoneri defender Daniele Bonera will be the head coach of the side. He made 201 appearances for the club over his nine-year stint in Milan.

The team will assemble on July 8 and train at Milanello alongside Paulo Fonseca’s team, effectively forming a single group. The first official matches are scheduled for August 11 and 18, which will be the first and second preliminary rounds of the Serie C Italian Cup. The championship is set to begin on August 25.
