Transfer talk: Guehi in play, Bayern open for summer sales

July 10 – Arsenal and Manchester United are ready to compete for the signing of England defender Marc Guehi, with the 23-year-old set to reject Crystal Palace’s new contract offer.

The player has impressed during his time with England during Euro 2024, and has also been linked to Real Madrid.

FC Bayern are gearing up for a summer sale with France winger Kingsley Coman, 28, Netherlands defender Matthijs de Ligt, 24, Germany midfielders Leon Goretzka, 29, Joshua Kimmich, 29, and Serge Gnabry, 28, and Canada left-back Alphonso Davies, 23, among the candidates to leave the club this summer in order to fund new deals.

The squad changes mark an era of change for the club, who suffered a rude awakening from Xabi Alonso’s invincible Leverkusen side last season after Bayern’s 11 straight Bundesliga title streak was brought to a crushing end.

Nice and France defender Jean-Clair Todibo, 24, wants to join Juventus after his move to Manchester United fell through. The player is valued at €35 million by Transfermarkt but he is likely to cost closer to €50 million.

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has also selected Juventus as his desired destination as the Old Lady look to rebuild after a disappointing domestic spell in recent seasons. Sancho enjoyed a successful loan stint at former club Borussia Dortmund last season but has made it clear of his intention to leave Old Trafford – especially with Erik Ten Hag staying on as boss.

Spain star Nico Williams has a long line of suitors as the 21-year-old continues to sparkle at Euro 2024. The player has a £49 million release clause at Athletic Bilbao, but his huge wage demands have been a cause of concern for interested parties.

Manchester United’s 22-year-old England forward Mason Greenwood is set to join Marseille on a permanent deal worth £35 million, though there is some local political opposition to his signing.

Chelsea are in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a deal for 22-year-old German forward Karim Adeyemi as the club look to bolster their attacking options.
