July 12 – Turkey’s Bodrum FC has signed a naming rights deal with Sipay Electronic Money and Payment Services that will see the club will change its name to Sipay Bodrum Football Club for just a year for the upcoming Trendyol Super Lig 2024/2025 season.
No value for the deal was given.
Sipay, founded at the end of 2018 offers various payment solutions including a digital wallet infrastructure, transactions with or without cards, money orders, mobile operations, and alternative payment methods.
Bodrum FC was founded in 1931, but for a large part of its history it functioned as an amateur club. After two seasons in the 1 Lig (the second tier of football in Turkey), Bodrum won a historic promotion to the Super Lig, where it will play for the first time in the 2024/2025 season.
“The fascinating world of football is not just a sport, but also a force that brings communities together and creates excitement and passion. As Sipay, we are very happy to be a part of this fascinating world thanks to our naming sponsorship agreement with Bodrum FK. We are very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to both the club and Bodrum fans. I believe that this collaboration will provide significant benefits in both sporting and economic terms,” said Semih Musabak, Sipay CEO.
Sipay Bodrum FK Board Member Onur Talay added: “First of all, we would like to thank Sipay Electronic Money and Payment Services Inc. for their contributions to our club and football. As a club that has managed to move up two leagues in three years and is focused on sustainable success, we said hello to the Super League with Sipay.
“This agreement will not only contribute to our club, but also to our fans and Bodrum. We plan to implement special wallet and card projects for our team in a short time. Our teams aim to develop projects that will create gains for the Bodrum economy and our club by working together,” he continued.
