Meridianbet backs local with AEL Limassol shirt deal

July 12 – Cyprus based Meridianbet, which has just been acquired by the Golden Matrix gaming group and has announced a sponsorship with Cypriot team FC AEL Limassol. 

Described as the biggest sponsorship agreement in Cypriot football, Meridianbet’s logo will be on the team’s shirt front, while it will also have a package of digital rights to promote to fans.

AEL Limassol, managed by former Wales coach Chris Coleman, has won 17 league and cup titles in Cyprus though last season finished ninth in the 14-team Cypriot top tier which has been battling against fan violence.

Chrysothemi Valanidou, CEO of Meridianbet Cyprus, said: “As one of the top betting companies globally, becoming the official sponsor of AEL is part of our strategy to promote sports and fair play. Our decision to support AEL is based on shared ambitions, and we are convinced that together we will bring success and excitement to the fans.”

Meridianbet operates online betting sites using its own brand, as well as white labelling its services for other betting operators.
