Ronaldo moves from social media poster to YouTube channel owner

August 22 – On Wednesday, Al Nassr star and Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo launched his own YouTube Channel, with millions of subscribers signing up within hours.

With hundreds of millions of followers on various social media platforms, Ronaldo has turned from being a poster of content to a broadcaster, establishing the Youtube channel ‘UR Cristiano’ that will feature programming based around himself and his family.

The channel and Ronaldo will discuss his “greatest passion” (football) as well as “his other interests, including family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business.”

On Instagram, Ronaldo wrote: “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.”

Ronaldo has 170 million followers on Facebook, 112.6 million on X and a whopping 636 million on Instagram. The UR channel has been an immediate hit, becoming the fastest channel to reach one million subscribers. By Thursday lunchtime, Ronaldo’s channel had 18 million subscribers.

Ronaldo has won 33 trophies, including five Champions Leagues and five Ballon d’Or awards. On Thursday, the Portuguese and Al Nassr play Al-Read in their first game of the new Saudi league season.
