August 23 – After becoming the fastest user to reach a million subscribers on YouTube with his new-launch channel – less than the duration of a football match after going live on Wednesday – Al Nassr and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has already eclipsed major entities such as FIFA, Real Madrid and the Premier League.
At the time of writing, that number has ballooned to over 32 million — again the setting the record for the quickest to achieve that figure.
As the most-followed person across social media, Ronaldo commands a huge 170 million followers on Facebook, 112.6 million on X and 636 million on Instagram. By Thursday lunchtime, Ronaldo’s YouTube channel, named ‘UR Cristiano’ had 18 million subscribers – a tally that has almost doubled in the 24 hours since.
The 39-year-old has already topped 100 million views in less than two days across 12 YouTube videos. Three of his videos have already surpassed the 20 million view mark, crossing into territory never really seen before on the platform.
According to Thinkific, YouTube channels can earn around $6 per 1,000 views, meaning Ronaldo could be making between $1,200 to $6,000 per million views.
Ronaldo, with his recent surge in YouTube activity, has already surpassed 100 million views, leveraging his global star power and unparalleled reach across social media. This viewership, coupled with ad revenue and sponsorship deals, suggests that Ronaldo may have already earned well over several hundred million dollars from his YouTube success.

I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so and they will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects. Whilst the player enjoyed success off the pitch this week, his side Al Nassr were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw against Al-Raed in the Roshni Saudi League despite the best efforts of their Portuguese talisman, who netted the opener in the 34th minute.
