TIM exits Serie A but dials in Milan double with Inter sponsorship added to AC Milan deal

October 7 – Reigning Serie A Champions Inter Milan have announced a new partnership with TIM, which will see the broadcast provider become the club’s Official Telco Partner.

The two-year-deal extends to the Women’s team, with the TIM logo on their shorts for the coming season .

TIM will also take naming rights for the Inter Youth Centre, which includes the college where the club’s youth players stay and the academy offices are housed. The collaboration will also involve a series of initiatives offering customers the chance to take part in exclusive Inter experiences.

“We are delighted to announce this new partnership agreement with TIM, a storied Italian brand and a market leader in its field,” said FC Internazionale Milano Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello.

“We are proud that TIM have decided to team up with our club and, by supporting the Inter Women team, share our commitment to promoting the women’s game.”

TIM ended a 25-year title sponsorship of Serie A last season, being replaced in a three-year deal by Enlive. But the telecoms giant has not left football sponsorship behind completely, having also agreed a sponsorship with AC Milan in September.

“We are especially proud of this partnership with FC Internazionale Milano, a new collaboration in keeping with sporting values which bring together rather than divide, just like TIM’s Forza delle Connessioni,” said Andrea Rossini, chief consumer, small & medium and mobile wholesale market officer of TIM.

“This illustrates TIM’s attention towards the world of football, whose values such as dedication, healthy competition and passion we have always shared. We are also continuing to support female talent with the aim of achieving gender equality in all fields as soon as possible.”

Inter’s men’s team will return to Serie A action after the international break with a must-win tie versus AS Roma. As things stand, they sit second in the table, one point behind Napoli in first.

Inter Women, meanwhile, sit third in the Serie A Femminile table. They return to league action on October 12 against Como Women.
