Draw for 2025 U20 Asian Cup China held in Shenzen

November 8: The draw for the 2025 AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025 has seen the China PR, champions in 1985, drawn with Australia, Kyrgyz Republic and Qatar in Group A.

The draw, held at the Grand Skylight International Guanlan in Shenzhen, was not particularly kind to the Chinese hosts. Qatar won the title in 2014 andAustralia were runners-up in 2010.

The 16 teams were drawn into four groups with four slots available to the U-20 World Cup 2025 in Chile.

Five-time winners Iraq head Group B with Jordan, Saudi Arabia and North Korea also vying for the two quarter-final spots. DPR Korea and Saudi Arabi are three-time champions while Jordan were fourth in 2006.

Group C sees defending champions Uzbekistan against four-time winners Iran, Indonesia and Yemen. Indonesia won the title in 1961 while Yemen will be making their seventh appearance at the finals

The Group D challenge, the group of death, is lead by Japan, 2016 champions, and 12-time winners South Korea Republic, Syria (1994 winners) and Thailand (champions in 1962, 1969) also hoping to advance to the quarter-finals.

The 42nd edition of the tournament will be played February 12 to March 1, 2025.
