London police re-question Premier League player on suspicion of rape

November 14 – A Premier League player under investigation for more than two years has been further questioned for allegedly raping three women and sexually assaulting a fourth, according to multiple reports.

The established international player in his 30s was apparently questioned again on November 7. He has not been named for legal reasons but he is believed to play for Arsenal.

The alleged offences took place between 2021 and 2023.

“A man in his 30s was arrested in July 2022. He has since been interviewed by police on two further occasions while under caution. The investigation remains ongoing and detectives are continuing with in-depth and detailed inquiries. Those who have come forward to police continue to receive support from Met officers,” a statement said.

The player, who has always denied any wrongdoing, controversially continues to play despite the ongoing case.

One woman told the BBC the lack of action from the club concerned and the Football Association contributed to her attempting to take her own life.
