FIFA hits Bank of America cashpoint for CWC sponsorship

December 4 – With the Club World Cup 2025 group draw taking place in Miami this Thursday, FIFA has announced Bank of America as a Club World Cup 2025 sponsor. The bank opened its account with FIFA in August becoming a 2026 World Cup partner.

Bank of America joins official beer sponsor AB InBev and Chinese electronics giant Hisense on the CWC sponsorship roster. No values have been announced for any of the deals so far.

FIFA is currently in a dispute with existing partners Adidas and Coca-Cola who already hold sponsorship agreements covering all of FIFA’s major tournaments but who FIFA argue should be paying additionally for the expanded Club World Cup.

Adidas and Coca-Cola argue their existing deals still cover the new tournament format, that they are unwilling to pay more for the Club World Cup expansion and didn’t choose or lobby FIFA to expand the Club World Cup.

On the new deal with Bank of America, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said: “In recent months we’ve enjoyed detailed discussions with Bank of America’s leadership about FIFA’s mission both on and off the pitch, so we’re delighted that they’ve joined us on our journey to redefine global club football in addition to working side-by-side with us for FIFA World Cup 2026. As a global organisation with operations around the world and in every tournament host city, Bank of America is a perfect partner for this ground-breaking tournament.”

Infantino’s ‘redefinition of global club football’ will see the 32-team tournament played in 11 cities from June 15 to July 13, 2025.

Bank of America’s Chair and CEO, Brian Moynihan, added: “This partnership with FIFA, for both World Cup 2026 and now Club World Cup 2025, sharpens our focus on deepening client relationships through the most iconic sporting events in the world, and generating lasting economic impact, globally and locally.”
