January 9 – British football brand Mitre, the official ball supplier of the Emirates FA Cup & Adobe Women’s FA Cup, has introduced limited-edition winners’ balls for the first time.
Manchester United’s men’s and women’s teams, as the current holders of the two cups, will be presented with a customised ball each to use for the entirety of the new campaign.
Ruben Amorim’s side will face Arsenal away on Sunday in the third round of the FA Cup, which will mark the debut of the Mitre limited edition winners’ ball at the home of the club with the most FA Cup titles (14).
The womens’ ball will make its debut a day earlier for the team’s fourth-round Adobe Women’s FA Cup clash with West Bromwich Albion at Leigh Sports Village.
Both teams will continue to use the unique balls until the finals – if they make it to Wembley Stadium come the end of the season.
Just 500 of the limited edition ball have been made.
The 2024-25 Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women’s FA Cup Ultimax Pro footballs have also been given a special touch, featuring bold gold accents designed to celebrate the magic of the competition.
Simon Rowe, Senior Vice President of Mitre & Global Sports Marketing at Pentland Brands, said: “We’re always looking to bring something new and exciting to the game, and the introduction of the winners’ balls is a perfect way to celebrate the reigning champions, Manchester United.
“The Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women’s FA Cup create so many unforgettable moments for players and fans, and we hope the Winners’ Balls add an extra layer of excitement and prestige to this iconic competition.”
