Courting couple: PSG and San Antonio Spurs agree collaboration

January 20 – The lines between sports are narrowing, and French super club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is leading the way as they begin a collaboration with five-time National Basketball Association (NBA) World Champions, the San Antonio Spurs.

The partnership will involve the usual platforms we’ve seen from brands such as community-building activities, leadership development programs, and exclusive fan engagement opportunities.

PSG CEO, Victoriano Melero, said: “This partnership represents a unique opportunity to blend our expertise in leadership and fan connection, creating unforgettable experiences for our audiences. Together, we are redefining the role of sports in inspiring and uniting communities on a global scale.”

On the other side of the pond, his counterpart and CEO of the Spurs, RC Buford, said: “As a global organisation, the Spurs are deeply committed to fostering connections that extend beyond the court. This collaboration highlights the importance of engaging with the Paris community and fans while celebrating a shared love of sports with a highly regarded organization like PSG.”

The two organisations believe that sharing knowledge, with a focus on brand development, fan engagement, and community impact will allow them to identify common challenges, while creating solutions.

Spurs and PSG will be co-hosting a one-day leadership summit that will bring together 50 women leaders in sports, government, and community development. The programme aligns with the Spurs’ global efforts to empower leaders and PSG’s initiatives like ‘Allez les Filles!’, which supports young girls through sports.

As always with PSG, fashion is never far from the forefront and they are celebrating the collaboration with a limited-edition product launch available at PSG’s flagship stores, celebrating the intersection of art, culture, and sports.
