NSL extends partnership with DoorDash Canada for inaugural season

January 23 – The Northern Super League (NSL), Canada’s first professional women’s football league, has extended its founding partnership with DoorDash Canada for the league’s inaugural 2025 season. At the heart of the partnership is a shared mission to ‘inspire, empower, and support’ the next generation of female athletes.

DoorDash Canada will reserve tickets for aspiring young players to experience NSL matches in-person in a move designed to show girls across the country that a future in sports is within their reach.

Recognising the role nutrition plays in athletic development, DoorDash Canada have pledged to provide meals to community organisations in the six cities the NSL calls home: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax.

The deal will also see DoorDash serve as the Presenting Partner of the NSL’s Year-End Awards. DoorDash’s renewed commitment builds on its early involvement during the NSL’s development phase, led by league founder and former Canadian international Diana Matheson.

What began as a bold idea has now taken shape with the introduction of a league set to reshape professional women’s football in Canada. Fans will also get a slice of the action, with DoorDash rolling out exclusive matchday perks, activations, and offers to enhance their experience and deepen their connection to the league.

“The Northern Super League is only months away from making history and we could not be cheering any louder – just as we have since day one of Project 8,” said Heather Cameron, Head of Brand and Creative at DoorDash Canada.

“Supporting women in sports is tightly intertwined with our mission of empowering local economies. As the league’s Exclusive On-Demand Delivery Partner, we’re looking forward to fueling fans by connecting them to the best of their neighbourhood and creating equity in access to opportunities.”

“We are absolutely thrilled to build on existing momentum with DoorDash Canada now as a premier partner of the Northern Super League,” said Christina Litz, President of the Northern Super League.

“DoorDash Canada’s unwavering support of Diana in the early creation of our league and their ongoing commitment to celebrating our players and communities through the Year-End Awards highlights their dedication to advancing women’s professional sports.”
