Man City keep pushing digital platform boundaries with Veritran deal

January 24 – Manchester City has announced a multi-year partnership with Veritran, a digital technology specialist.

It is Veritran’s first foray into the sports sector. The value and term of the deal are undisclosed.

As the Official Fan Identity Partner of Manchester City, Veritran’s technology will integrate with the club’s existing digital infrastructure with the aims of enhancing key fan-facing processes including registration, memberships, and ticketing, delivering a smoother and more efficient experience for supporters.

Man City has been a leader in the use of digital technology over the past 10 years, focussing on driving its brand domestically and internationally to the position where it is ranked as the Premier League’s most valuable football club brand by Brand Finance.

The club said the deal reflects an ongoing commitment to innovation both on and off the pitch, ensuring fans remain at the heart of the club’s operations.

While digital transformation is a process that all clubs are embracing to greater or lesser degrees, Man City are showing that building digital platforms are an on-going process, in contrast to fixed end-point projects like, for example, stadium improvements. For Veritran, the partnership is an opportunity to showcase its expertise on a global stage, leveraging Man City’s digital platform.

Kaitlyn Beale, Vice President, Global Partnership Sales, City Football Group, said: “As a club, we strive to be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and innovation in order to further enhance our solutions-based infrastructure and help us continually improve our processes for fans.

“We are excited by Veritran’s products and solutions and we look forward to working with them to

implement this technology over the next few years.”

Marcelo Fondacaro, chief commercial officer at Veritran claimed: “This collaboration represents a groundbreaking achievement for Veritran, as we proudly become one of the first LATAM tech companies to partner with Manchester City. With Veritran’s proven expertise and the Club’s commitment to excellence, this partnership will further enhance Manchester City’s technology infrastructure, creating smoother, more connected, and more enjoyable interactions for fans worldwide.”

Whilst the club’s partnership roster has lost no enthusiasm, it could be sailing into unchartered territory on the pitch- and not in a good way. Defeat to Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday night left Pep Guardiola’s side dangerously close to an embarrassing early exit from the Champions League. They currently sit 25th in the UCL table, two points off safety with a game still to play against Club Brugge next week.

They’ve rescued some form domestically, though, shown through a thumping 6-0 win over Ipswich which could put their Premier League season back on track.
