February 4 – Visa has renewed and expanded its sponsor partnership with AFC to cover more of the confederation’s regions and competitions for the next two seasons.
The payments provider first linked with the AFC in a regional partnership for the Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
Under the new deal, Visa will become the Official Global Supporter of
AFC’s club competitions, including the AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Women’s Champions League, and AFC Champions League Two for the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons, as well as the national team World Cup qualification process, the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to 26.
AFC general secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John said: “Building on the incredible success of the greatest-ever AFC Asian Cup in history, the AFC is delighted to expand our partnership with Visa and welcome them as an Official Global Supporter of our world-class competitions.
“The strategic reforms introduced to our competitions are already leaving a lasting impact on our teams and passionate fanbase, and we thank Visa for underlining their confidence in the future of Asian football.”
As part of its sponsorship activation Visa will have a number of exclusive opportunities for their cardholders across Asia, including:
- Visa Coin Toss: Visa cardholders will participate in the pre-match coin toss with match officials and team captains.
- Final Whistle Experience: Visa prize winners will watch the final ten minutes of matches from the pitch side.
- Visa Player Escort Kids Programme: Over 100 children will have the chance to lead players on to the pitch at the Champions League Elite Finals.
