February 18 – Manchester United are to appoint Paris Saint-Germain’s chief revenue officer, Marc Armstrong, as their new chief business officer in the coming weeks, according to media in both countries.

The Athletic and L’Equipe have reported that he will focus on enhancing the Premier League club’s revenue through their day-to-day commercial operations.

In this new position, Armstrong, who worked with United director Jean-Claude Blanc while the pair were at PSG, will work closely with United CEO Omar Berrada, who has overseen the club’s commercial activities since joining from Manchester City in January 2024. He will also collaborate with Sir Dave Brailsford, Jason Wilcox and Collette Roche on the club’s footballing structure.

United remain one of the biggest brands in world football, but they have suffered years of decline, with poor results on the field and instability in the boardroom. New co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has responded by instigating a series of austerity measures, including several rounds of staff dismissals.

Armstrong has served as PSG’s chief revenue officer since June 2022, having initially joined the Ligue 1 champions in 2018. His extensive experience also includes executive roles at the NBA, NFL and England’s Football Association.
