February 2 – The Bulgarian National Revenue Agency (NRA) has lifted the seizure of two of Levski Sofia’s club logos after the club paid its state taxes.
The NRA has now designated Levski as a “correct payer”, meaning that the club can now freely use its trademarks without any restrictions.
The seizures of Levski’s brand images were imposed as a measure under the club’s debt repayment agreement of December 28, 2023.
Levski said that the cancellation comes as a result of the full repayment of the principal of BGN 3.7 million (€ 1.85 million).
“The management of PFC Levski is proud to announce to the ‘blue’ supporters another important step that the club has taken. Thanks to the fact that we are a correct payer under the decision to reschedule the obligations to the National Revenue Agency, with a decree to cancel the imposed precautionary measures, the seizure of two of the trademarks owned by the club was lifted. One is on the original emblem of the club, and the other is for the ‘Л’ logo, which is present on the first team’s kits,” said a Levski Sofia statement.
“The seizures were imposed as a precautionary measure under the agreement to reschedule the public obligations of PFC Levski from 28.12.2023. The cancellation comes as a result of the full repayment of the principal of 3.7 million leva.
“In addition, PFC Levski does not accumulate new obligations and is certainly among the most regular and largest taxpayers in the country. Thanks to this, the two trademarks are free of seizure and can be freely used without restrictions by the club,” the statement continued.
“We assure you that PFC Levski will continue to strictly fulfill all its obligations to the state and all other counterparties. Thanks to all this, we can boast that the club has already restored its reputation as a fair partner.”
