February 24 – The World Leagues Association (WLA) is building its network as it battles to make the voices of the national leagues heard. To that end the Liga Primera Nicaragua will host the second Central American Leagues meeting May 19-20, in Managua, Nicaragua.
This second meeting follows the success of the first meeting, which was held in Panama in 2024. The aim is to strengthen dialogue and cooperation among the leagues.
League reps will address key topics including competition management, financial sustainability for clubs, and talent development.
“It is an honor for us to welcome our fellow leagues to Nicaragua and to continue contributing to the growth and professionalization of football in the region,” said Luis Rosas, Executive Director of Liga Primera.
Jerome Perlemuter, General Secretary of the World Leagues Association, added: “Collaboration among professional leagues at the regional level is a fundamental element for the development of professional football. We sincerely thank Liga Primera for its hospitality and its unwavering commitment to strengthening football in Central America.”
