DAZN sign on for W7F launch in Estoril

March 24 – DAZN’s quest to become the global broadcast leader in football has taken another step forward with the announcement that the platform will be the global broadcasting, production, sales and marketing partner of  Worlds Sevens Football (W7F).

This new women’s competition will feature elite teams and players from around the world, who will compete in a lightning-fast competition over three-days May 21-23 in Estoril, Portugal. The first tournament will see eight clubs play head-to-head for a $5 million prize pool.

The competition is seven-a-side, two 15-minute halves on pitches half the size of a regulation pitch. The four teams will be split into two groups of four in a round robin format. The top two teams in each group with then contest the semifinals with the winners advancing to the final.

As part of the partnership, DAZN will collaborate with WSF on sub-licensing, and marketing, leveraging its global reach, market-leading technology and powerful marketing engine to accelerate the growth of the competition and tap into an ever-expanding audience of football fans around the world.

DAZN, has recently received substantial funding from the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), and has partnered with FIFA to distribute the 2025 Club World Cup.
