March 28 – As the Hispanic community continues to grow in the United States, it’s no surprise that the Federacion Mexicana de Futbol (FMF) has teamed up with Soccer United Marketing (SUM) to announce a multiyear partnership with the El Mexicano brand.
The California-based food company is now the official diary sponsor of both the Mexican men’s and women’s national teams in the US.
This collaboration will cover both the MexTour (Men) and MexTour W (women) properties, with a focus on fan engagement, in-stadium activations, and brand visibility throughout the entire country.
With the US being the largest market for Mexican national team programmes outside of Mexico, the FMF is continuing its development of building localised sponsorships throughout the US market.
For El Mexicano, this partnership allows the brand to:
- Engage with over 65 million US-based fans of the Mexican National Teams
- Gain exclusive access to live matches and event-based marketing platforms
- Deliver brand activations focused on in-stadium experiences, promotions, and digital content
- Strengthen its association with Mexican heritage and community values through football
CEO of Marquez Brothers International Inc, Gustavo Marquez Jr, describes the natural fit in the following terms: “Soccer is a cornerstone of Mexican culture, and the MexTour unites fans in a celebration of pride, heritage, and community. We look forward to sharing our authentic products with fans during this amazing event.”
Carter Ladd, Chief Revenue Officer of Soccer United Marketing, added: “El Mexicano is a brand that understands the impact and passion that follows the Mexican National Teams and their MexTour events. This authentic partnership will further cement both brands’ beloved position in the hearts, minds, and culture of fans.”
With the U.S. and Mexico due to share a World Cup next year, the timing makes sense, however, the political climate and tariff war currently conducted by the Trump administration does raise an eyebrow.
