December 12 – The French Football Federation (FFF), has inked a content agreement with Chinese media company NetEase Media Technology.
NetEase will be a premium partner of the FFF during the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The Chinese media company will be granted exclusive content from the French national team during the tournament. This will include interviews and archived footage of matches.
Furthermore NetEase will be granted access to the trainings sessions and team press conferences in Russia. NetEase will built on their experience and reputation from the 2014 World Cup in Brazil when they had the same role with the hosts and the Spanish national team.
The financial terms of the deal, which runs until the end of the 2018 World Cup, were not disclosed.
Les Bleus qualified for the finals by topping their group, which included Sweden, fellow finalists, and the Netherlands. They were paired alongside Denmark, Australia and Peru in Group C during the draw. France open their World Cup campaign against Australia in Kazan on June 16.
