May 9 – Roy Hodgson, the new England manager, will name his eagerly awaited squad for the 2012 European Championships next Wednesday (May 16) – three days after the end of Premier League season.

Hodgson will see his players in action for the first time in a friendly against Norway in Oslo on May 26 before submitting a final list to UEFA.

England’s final warm-up game will be against Belgium at Wembley Stadium in London on June 2, nine days before their first group fixture against France.

Matches against Sweden, where Hodgson managed highly successfully at club level, and joint hosts Ukraine follow.

Hodgson has had little time to prepare for the tournament, having only been appointed as Fabio Capello’s successor at the beginning of this month.

He will take charge of his club, West Bromwich Albion, for the final time against Arsenal on Sunday (May 13) before turning his full attention to the national team.
