June 15 – Pasha Insurance has signed a deal with Azerbaijan 2012 for the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup to become a National Supporter of the prestigious event which will see 16 teams battle it out for ultimate glory.
The 2012 tournament will be the third edition of the competition and is being held from September 22 to October 13 after FIFA awarded the event to Azerbaijan in March 2010.
Nofal Rzayev (pictured above, left), the chairman and chief executive of Pasha Insurance who signed the agreement on behalf of his organisation, admitted that the company is excited to be a part of the tournament and to help contribute to the development of women’s football in Azerbaijan, which has historically had little attention in the country.
“We have been partners of the Association of Football Federation of Azerbaijan (AFFA) for two years and are very happy with our cooperation,” Rzayev said.
“We are now proving our long-term relationship with football by signing this agreement with FIFA.
“This gives us the status of a National Supporter of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012 and, as such, invites the organisers and Pasha Insurance to a friendship, within the framework of realisation and promotion of the tournament.
“We are very happy with such an opportunity and are confident that FIFA, fans and spectators of the World Cup will be pleased with the results of our cooperation.”
Elkhan Mammadov (pictured top, right), chairman of Azerbaijan 2012, said he was delighted to sign Pasha Insurance as the fourth National Supporter of the competition and said that they will play a hugely important role in helping promote the event.
“On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, we welcome Pasha Insurance and are happy to see them as a National Supporter of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012,” he said.
“We hope that as a result of our reciprocal partnership, Pasha Insurance will not only play a big role in developing women’s football in Azerbaijan, but we will also do our part in turning the upcoming World Cup into an unforgettable memory in the history of international football.”
Pasha Insurance joins Bakcell, SOCAR and Xalq Bank as supporters of the 2012 under-17 women’s tournament.
