March 22 – New FIFA regulations surrounding player transfers and their status, will be the focus of the Sports Law at the Crossroads conference, Madrid 10-11 May. A second day will examine the growth of esports and the game-changing regulatory issues it is presenting.
The conference, hosted at the Madrid Bar Association headquarters with a Gala Dinner to be held at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, will bring together leading federation stakeholders, agents, clubs and federations to debate probably the hottest area law and club finance currently.
“Sport law, as sport itself, is constantly moving forward, adapting itself to the needed changes as well as trying to look at the future and foresee the expected challenges. We therefore have decided to dedicate the Forum this year to ‘Sports law at the crossroads’,” said Efraim Barack, conference programme co-ordinator, Rex Sport director and founder and managing partner of Efraim Barak Sport Law.
“Participants will have the opportunity to listen to leading practitioners and colleagues holding key positions in the relevant sport organisations (as well as ask questions) on the overlapping and coexistence between the need to continue developing and updating the legal framework of ‘traditional sport’, while paying needed attention to the growing phenomena of e-sport and e-gaming (often referred to as ‘Future Sports’).”
Hosted at the Ilusrtre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid (the Madrid BAR), in their beautiful building at the heart of Madrid on May 10-11. The Forum will be organised again in collaboration with Insideworldfootball. The conference main sponsor is the RFEF, the Spanish football federation.
