Kappa take over Villa kit deal with Premier League return in focus

May 21 – Championship club Aston Villa, who play-off against Derby County for a return to the Premier League May 27, have announced Kappa as their kit supplier for the 2019/20 season.

The Italian sportswear giants have signed a three-year agreement running until 2022, and will provide kit and training wear for the first team, development and junior sides as well as the Ladies’ teams.

Kappa takes over from Birmingham fashion brand Luke1977 and will continue to work with Villa partners Fanatics. Fanatics will manufacture Villa’s kits, with Kappa involved role in the design stage. Kappa’s logo will be on the shirt.

Aston Villa chief commercial officer Nicola Ibbetson said: “I am delighted that Aston Villa have partnered with such a recognisable and iconic brand who have a long-standing reputation for delivering quality, eye-catching performance sportswear.

“At the forefront of our decision was the key requirement to find a partner that would put design at the heart of the process and do justice to our famous claret and blue colours.

“In addition to collaborating with some of the leading experts in the field of technical sports kit and fashion, we are currently working with Kappa and Fanatics to ensure that all Aston Villa supporters are catered for with a wide range of replica kit and merchandise.”
