October 10 – Liverpool may be struggling on the field but their brand awareness overseas shows no sign of diminishing.
The English Premier League club have just signed a commercial partnership with Turkish betting brand Misli.com as it steps up its efforts to enhance its global strategy.
Financial details have not been disclosed but the deal represents the latest attempt to tap into Turkey’s growing economy.
“Our partnership portfolio continues to expand globally through this new partnership in Turkey with Misli.com,” said Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre.
“All football fans know that Liverpool FC has a special connection with Turkey, especially since our Champions League win in Istanbul back in 2005.
“We recently completed a television series in Turkey called Soccer Prince which has enhanced our profile in the country and our partnerships with Turkey Tourism and Ramsey demonstrate the value that we’re delivering to organisations in Turkey.”
Baris Telkin, Misli.com chief executive, added: “Misli.com is very proud to be the exclusive betting partner for Liverpool Football Club in Turkey.
“This deal shows commitment to our 300,000 customers, bringing a global sports club closer to home.
“Through this partnership we hope to build on our customer base and offer some really exciting activity linked to Liverpool FC.”
