October 11 – Jeffrey Webb, President of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), was forced to pull out of the Leaders in Football conference in London when he fell ill on his transatlantic flight.

Webb, 47, was taken to hospital in London as soon as his flight touched down and was unable to go ahead with his scheduled address on the future of football in the new era of transparency – specifically within his region, which has had to endure a torrid a few months.

Doctors thoroughly checked him over after reports he was suffering from a shortness of breath and concluded he was not in danger, although no further statement was issued.
