August 2 – Premier League Southampton have extended their one-season deal with trading platform eToro for the 2019/20 season.
eToro will have matchday perimeter advertising and a presence across the club’s digital channels amongst a package of marketing assets. It will also deliver tailored digital campaigns aimed at education fans about investing in the markets.
The investment platform has grown to 11 million registered users facilitiating trading in traditional stocks and commodities through to newer cryptoassets like Bitcoin.
Iqbal V. Gandham, eToro UK managing director, said: “We’re delighted to be extending our partnership with Southampton after a successful first year. As a global investment platform, we believe in long-term relationships so it’s great to be continuing our support of the club, and we look forward to the season ahead.”
Saints have been developing their international fanbase and touchpoints outside of their South Coast base. Chief commercial officer, David Thomas, said: “We are extremely delighted to be extending our partnership with eToro, a rapidly-growing company with users worldwide.
“Their success in a fast-developing, innovative industry resonates with our own ambitions and we look forward to developing the partnership further.”
No value was given for the deal.
