Real Sociedad secure Reale Seguros for naming rights to refurbed stadium

August 5 – Basque club Real Sociedad has signed a reported six-season €9 million stadium naming rights deal with insurance company Reale Seguros.

The Aneota stadium in San Sebastian will be renamed the Reale Seguros Stadium. The insurance company has been the club’s official insurance partner for seven years and has the sleeve patch position on the club’s shirt.

Chinese financial business Qbao.com had been the team’s main sponsor in a deal signed in 2012 and was also exploring the possibility of the naming rights for the Anoeta Stadium but dropped out following a 2018 investigation into illegal fundraising.

Jokin Aperribay, president of Real, said the deal “is very good news for the Real to have Reale Seguros as a travel companion in this new stage for the stadium.”

The club has been refurbishing its stadium at a cost of about €50 million. That work is expected to complete before the year end.

Reale Seguros, CEO, Ignacio Mariscal, said: “It is a true honor to associate our brand with a football stadium as relevant as that of the Royal Society. I would like to value the relationship of trust that we have maintained in these last seven years with the management team of the Real, which is the reflection of our firm commitment to the Basque Country and Gipuzkoa, a priority area for us.”
