November 8 – The sister of Brazil’s Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk has been reunited with her family after being kidnapped for 24 hours.

Angelica Aparecida Vieira de Souza (pictured top, left, with Hulk), a 22-year-old nutrition student, vanished on Monday (November 5) afternoon while she waited outside a restaurant in the northeastern city of Campina Grande.

Souza was finally recovered and questioned by police.

No ransom was paid for her release.

Hulk, who left Porto in September to join Zenit for €40 million (£32 million/$51 million), is the latest footballer whose family has been targeted in Brazil, hosts of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The mothers of both Luís Fabiano and Robinho were also kidnapped in recent years, with the crime-ridden northeast of the country regarded as the most dangerous.
