October 4 – LaLiga, via its foundation, is to participate in the opening of 262 schools in El Salvador.
A collaborative agreement signed by Nayib Bukele, the president of the Republic of El Salvador, Yamil Bukele, the president of the national sports institute of El Salvador (INDES) and Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga aims to make sport, and football in particular, a socio-economic and educational development driver.
The creation of the LaLiga Values and Opportunity programme will be the foundation curriculum for 262 schools opened over the next five years.
“It will establish a long-term framework that promotes inclusion, integration in the world of work, education through values, the prevention of violence and social enterprise,” said a LaLiga press release.
“The important aspect of this agreement is promoting inclusion and education through sport while raising awareness about all forms of violence, while offering young people new development opportunities,” said Tebas.
“Signing this collaborative agreement with the LaLiga Foundation will help us teach our children and young people some fundamental life values through promoting and playing football,” said Bukele.
