More woe for Tanzania’s Malinzi as he is found guilty of forgery

December 13 – Disgraced former president of the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) and one-time FIFA standing committee member, Jamal Malinzi (pictured), has been found guilty of document forgery in his homeland .

He was ordered to pay a fine of approximately $220 or serve a two-year jail term.

Malinzi had been on remand following his arrest by the country’s Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau. Although he has agreed to pay the fine, he maintained his innocence throughout the case and claimed that the charges ‘were malicious’.

Last month, however, he was sanctioned by FIFA  for the misappropriation of funds and falsifying documents, banned for 10 years and fined CHF 500,000.
