January 30 – Betting companies are not being put off spending marketing money with English Championship clubs QPR and Millwall both agreeing new betting partner deals despite the warnings from the UK government that football needs to re-examine its relationship with bookmakers.

QPR is bringing in BetUK as its official betting partner in a deal expected to last for the remainder of the season. BetUK’s logo will be displayed on the front of the club’s first-team shirts until the end of the season as well as in various areas around the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and training facility.

QPR’s former partner Royal Panda withdrew from the UK betting market earlier this month citing “tougher regulations”, and will close its operations on Friday 31 January, 2020.

BetUK is part of the LeoVegas Group – as was Royal Panda.

QPR’s Commercial Director Euan Inglis stated: “Royal Panda have been a fantastic partner for the last two and a half seasons. Although Royal Panda will be replaced by BetUK.com until the end of this season, our relationship with the group will be maintained by BetUK.com coming on board.”

Millwall have signed MansionBet in an agreement making the online sportsbook an official partner as well as having its logo on the back Millwall players’ shorts for the rest of the season.

David Murphy, the Chief Marketing Officer of Mansion stated: “We’re excited to engage with Millwall’s loyal and passionate fans through exclusive offers and giveaways. Branching out into the EFL Championship allows us to reach a broader customer base, strengthening the MansionBet name across the UK.”

MansionBet already has deals with Newcastle and Bournemouth in the Premier League. Millwall is its first in the Championship.
