Man Utd put China pre-season tour talks on hold over coronavirus fears

February 11 – Manchester United are reported to have stalled  talks over a possible  pre-season visit to China because of the coronavirus outbreak which has now infected over 43,000 people (more than 42,500 in China) with more than 1,000 dead.

United have apparently been approached about returning to China in the summer to play more high profile fixtures following last season’s success.

United played warm-up games in Singapore and Shanghai last summer and visited China for a two-game tour in 2016.

Meanwhile United’s newly signed striker Odion Ighalo, signed from Shanghai Shenhua in the January transfer window, did not travel with the squad for a warm weather training camp  in Spain during the winter break over fears he would not be able to clear UK having been in China less than 14 days ago.
