February 20 – Internazionale are expanding Inter Academy portfolio, agreeing a partnership with IT.Sports to launch a series of football schools throughout country.
IT.Sports will manage project development while Inter will provide coaches and the programme.
The Brazil roll out follows on from the launch of an Inter Academy in Montevideo in Uruguay last July. Inter also have a programme in Argentina.
Worldwide, Inter Academy now has centres in Belarus, China, Indonesia, Japan, Lebanon, Slovakia and Hungary, and the club says it has more than 20,000 young players, 450 local coaches with 30 Italian coaches taking part in the project – in China the club has seven academy projects.
Alessandro Antonello, Corporate CEO at FC Internazionale Milano, said: “Inter has always been devoted to the training of young players, from both a technical and human standpoint, and in IT.Sports we’ve found a partner with the same attitude that sets our club apart. We therefore fully believe this partnership will further enhance Inter Academy Brazil.”
IT.Sports has developed a model for football schools that has been tailored for Inter and will allow every school in Brazil to be managed in an integrated way via use of digital technology. Coaching work will begin next month.
Jonas Teixeira, CEO of Inter Academy Brazil, said: “We’re excited to begin a new phase of development and growth for Inter Academy Brazil. We’ve developed an innovative business model which we hope can provide an added boost to this great Inter project.”
