Arsenal players under fire for breaking social distancing guidelines

April 24 – Twenty-four hours after Premier League Tottenham Hotspur made headlines for all the wrong reasons after two of their players were reported for breaking social distancing rules, north London rivals Arsenal are in the dock for the same reason.

David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Granit Xhaka have apparently been spoken to by the club for breaking lockdown rules.

The club confirmed to Sky they have contacted the players after pictures and videos emerged of them breaking government guidelines put in place to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Pepe was filmed playing football with friends in North London, Xhaka and Luiz met up at a park and Lacazette was photographed being too close to a car valeter on his driveway.

Tottenham’s Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko were forced to apologise this week after Aurier filmed the duo holding a joint fitness session in a park.
