July 2 – LaLiga is investing in the build of a new multi-sport complex that will become the league’s new centre for national and international sports projects and education initiatives.
Partnering with T3N Sport & Investment as part of a 15-year agreement, LaLiga said that a third global sports body will soon be announced as an additional partner.
Located in Villaviciosa de Odón, in the El Bosque Residential Park, 20 minutes from the centre of Madrid, the complex will include football pitches, basketball courts, a gym, a swimming pool, an education centre and accommodation for up to 450 people.
Available to LaLiga clubs and partners, as well as other education and sports bodies, construction will begin in July with the facility scheduled to be operational by the summer of 2021.
“One of LaLiga’s primary objectives is to help the development of sport, and with this project we offer a comprehensive solution that meets the needs of the industry, with special emphasis on our stakeholders. It is the first privately owned multi-use centre that will help the sports industry from a training, residential and sporting perspective, creating synergies with other facilities that LaLiga already has around the world, for example, in China, Dubai and soon Vietnam, among others”, commented Óscar Mayo, Director of Business, Marketing and International Development at LaLiga.
LaLiga said the initiative is a pioneering model for the sports sector in Spain, housing multiple sports, training facilities and sports educational facilities together.
“These complexes will become indispensable platforms for any sports institution that seeks to develop international training projects,” said Kiyomi Cerezo, CEO of T3N Sport & Investment.
