July 16 – Real Madrid will have a new official bank from the start of the 2020/21 season. An agreement with Liberbank will see the financial institution take over from Caixabank.
Liberbank will become the exclusive banking partner in Spain in an agreement that will run through to the end of the 2025-26 season.
No value was given for the deal but Caixabank was reportedly paying €15 million for its three deal that expires this week.
At the centre of the Liberbank marketing activation will be a range of Real Madrid specific finance products including the option for fans to finance season tickets. Liberbank will create “specific and exclusive financial and banking products”, said a club press release.
Liberbank’s partnership will cover the men’s and women’s teams, as well as the basketball team.
Liberbank will target fans with a range of products through Real Madrid’s digital platforms and will be involved in the club’s loyalty scheme that provide exclusive benefits and opportunities to members.
Liberbank has in the past worked with the Real Madrid Foundation.
