July 22 – Leeds United, back in the English top flight for the first time in 16 years next season, have announced a “record-breaking” official kit partnership with Adidas.
No value has been given for the new partnership that will cover playing and training kit and will run for an initial five seasons. Adidas replaces Kappa. It is the first time Adidas has been a kit partner with the club.
Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear said: “We’re looking forward to our return to the Premier League with anticipation next season and partnering with adidas, who are one of the most recognisable names in sport, represents a new beginning for the club.
“At Leeds United we continue to grow on and off the pitch and this record-breaking deal is another important step for the club.”
Leeds will join other Premier League sides Arsenal, Leicester City, Manchester United, Sheffield United, Watford, and Wolves as Adidas clubs.
It is understood the Leeds deal was in the pipeline since January but was contingent on the club achieving promotion to the Premier League. That was achieved with one game left of the season that completes tonight with Leeds playing relegation threatened Charlton Athletic.
