April 30 – Global integrity body SIGA launches the first of its ‘Women on Wednesday’s’ (WoW) webinars next week (May 5). The webinars will take place on the first Wednesday of every month and feature leading women’s sports executives.
SIGA said: “WoW will include interviews, debates and a series of editorial initiatives aimed at bringing greater media and public attention to those women that have pierced and are piercing the gender glass ceiling and encourage others to fulfil their own potential.”
The first webinar will focus on international motorsport with Kate Beavan, Global director of hospitality and experiences, Formula 1 and Catherine Bond Muir, CEO, W Series, talking with SIGA COO Katie Simmonds.
“This is part of our commitment to put diversity and inclusion on the agenda 365 days a year. If you can see it you can be it,” said Simmonds.
“It is a continuance of the Female Leadership web summit last month and part of our 2021/22 global agenda drive to support female empowerment and leadership in sport.”
SIGA ratified at its general assembly this month to have gender equity within all its internal bodies. Already operating a successful female mentorship programme, Simmonds said the next programme will open up for new applicants in June.
The webinar takes place May 5, 4-5.30pm BST and is free to attend.
